Savis Food

I was invited for dinner at Savis Food last last Saturday.

Looking at the photos while blogging makes me wanna go down and try the other items

Savis Food though may not be located at the most glamorous place, in a Hawker Centre, it certainly serves pretty decent pasta. What's even better? The price is at a fraction of your usual pasta found in various cafes and restaurants. Yay to good food at good price :D

Savis Food may not be new to you since they were previously located at Golden Mount Food Centre for a year or so. They then moved to Senkang Sqaure's Kopitiam, and have been there for around three months for now. Personally, I think it does stands out among the many stalls, look at dem lightings hahaha! Btw, it's those kind of kopitiam with the card one if you know what I mean, so it's clean and quite 通风 hahahha

One of their specialties would be the customized pastas. One can choose between two pasta types, pasta sauce- from a variety of option, and ingredients to make your own pasta. Apart from that, they also do sell, Grilled Chicken Chop and other sides as well.

Kenneth was sharing with us why they came up with this customize your own pasta thing. I like the idea since this way I could have all my preferred choice, from pasta, to the sauce and ingredients in my pasta. It's somewhere near perfect, isn't it?

Okay, enough of talking for now, lemme show you some pictures.

We had the Korean Fried Chicken to start off.

Yangnyeom (Spicy)

This was not spicy was I thought that it would be, so yup, for someone who wants something spicy, maybe you can request it to be spicier I guess, hahaha.

Gangjeong (Sweet)

Personally, I preferred the sweet one since the sauce was made just right. Oh yes, that's the sauce and not oil that you're seeing. The chicken meat is tender so that's a plus point. Not a fan of their skin tho, that's pretty much about it. I definitely wouldn't mind having it again.

Customized pasta (S$7.90)

For me- I chose Spaghetti for my pasta, Spicy Tom Yum for my pasta sauce, Carrots and Prawns for my ingredients. It's a generous portion for the amount you're paying for.

If I knew the sauce is meant to be dry, I would have chosen another sauce. Don't get me wrong tho, maybe I just wasn't in the mood for something dry that day. That being said, I do enjoy the kick from this sauce. It's spicy and tom yum flavour and the tom yam flavour is rich.

Customized Pasta (S$7.50)

For Rachael- she chose Penne for her pasta, Creamy Tom Yum for her pasta sauce, Broccoli and Smoked Duck for her ingredient.

I definitely preferred this sauce that day, like what I said, I wasn't in the mood for something dry. Rach also complimented that the smoked duck is good.

Customized Pasta (S$6.90)

Spaghetti for pasta, Tomato for pasta sauce, Prawn for ingredient.

You can go for the tomato sauce if you wanna have something safe, its good anyway!

It's worth checking them out especially when you're around that area. I mean you don't get a good and affordable western stall everyday right? Also, I saw some schools around that area, so lucky you students, you have another interesting option!

By the end of the dinner, we were both so full, It was really nice to meet Rachael again after my first shoot with her. Can't wait to hang out with her more this year heh,

Thank you Kenneth & Savis Food for the dinner!
